Robby 2022 Campaign Kickoff

Robby 2022 Campaign Kickoff

Robby Bancroft Announces Candidacy for Pacifica City Council District 2. Campaign Kickoff set for Sunday, July 17 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at Winters Tavern!

Lifelong Pacifican Robby Bancroft has tried his hand at all sorts of different endeavors around our city. For one, he’s the co-owner of one of the town’s highest-rated restaurants ––– Breakers Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch ––– and he’s been involved closely with local nonprofit organizations like Pacifica Resource Center and Pacificans Care to help improve the lives of the people living within city limits.

That’s right, Bancroft has announced he is running for Pacifica City Council this fall in an effort to continue his journey of helping others while establishing a political platform that promotes more engagement and collaboration with all Pacificans.

To launch his four-month campaign, Bancroft is hosting a kickoff event at Winters Tavern on Sunday, July 17 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. He’ll be joined by a series of guest speakers and supporters ––– all endorsers of his campaign consisting of fellow community members, small business owners, close family and longtime friends.

The event will feature a DJ, Emotional Coach, Personal Trainer and Yoga Teacher along with exercises and conversations aimed at discussing different issues relevant to Pacifica and Bancroft’s campaign. It will be an open forum setting with a chance for Pacificans to voice their opinions on topics such as our city’s budget, local economy, surrounding environment, the effects of climate change and lack of affordable housing.

“I’m excited to finally be sharing the news with all my friends, family and the entire City of Pacifica,” Bancroft said. “I’m looking forward to talking to everyone and hearing what’s on their mind!”

Bancroft is running to represent the city’s second district, an area that includes Westview, Edgemar, Pacific Manor and Sharp Park. Due to recent redistricting developments that started in 2020, Bancroft will take part in the very first campaign in the district’s young history. Councilmember Mike O'Neill, who was reelected in the last city-wide election in 2018, will be termed out in December.

At 36-years-old, Bancroft describes his campaign as “the people’s campaign” and cites his extensive experience in the district as being a major attribute in his arsenal. He spent his entire youth living in that section of Pacifica, only leaving once when he and his father lost their home during the housing crash of 2008. After getting back on their feet, the duo made it a priority to return to Pacifica and fulfill a long-awaited dream of opening their family business in 2014.

Winters Tavern is located at 1522 Francisco Blvd. in Pacifica. The event has a suggested ––– but not required ––– RSVP on Facebook here.
