Pacifica Democrats Candidates Panel
Campaign season continues to unfold in Pacifica and District 2 City Council candidate Robby Bancroft will be once again featured at another key event.
Bancroft will join the four other candidates running for City Council at a panel discussion hosted by the Pacifica Democrats organization on Aug. 20 at the Sharp Park Golf Course Restaurant meeting room. The scheduled start time is set for 9:30 a.m.
The event is expected to touch on key issues currently circulating through Pacifica and the city’s respective districts. Since Pacifica made changes to their election process, residents are only able to vote for one candidate per district, so this will be a solid time for prospective voters to connect with the names they'll see on their ballot come November.
“I’m looking forward to discussing all the issues our city is facing especially the impending deficit, lack of affordable housing, mental health needs in our community, the ongoing effects of climate change and the efforts to protect our open spaces, hillsides and ridges,” Robby says.
For those that cannot attend, the meeting will be streamed live by Pacific Coast Television ––– Channel 26 or www.pacificcoast.tv.
“Events like this are very important because it gives residents a chance to gain more knowledge about the issues and learn more about the candidate that may be running in their district,” Bancroft says. “I encourage everyone to attend or watch regardless if your district is up for election or if you maybe have already committed to a candidate already and most definitely if you haven’t decided on who to vote for yet.”
The panel will also consist of two current city council members running for reelection ––– Mayor Mary Bier from District 3 (uncontested) and Sue Beckmeyer from District 5 ––– and both of whom have endorsed Bancroft’s campaign.
Breakfast is available at the meeting beginning at 9:00 a.m.; $12 for a full meal, $6 for continental and $3 for coffee and juice. No purchase is necessary, the event is otherwise free of charge.
